 About KinderCAP Preschool KinderCAP is a preschool using the C.A.P. program (Christian Alphabet People) to bring the Bible alive to young children. Using a thematic approach, children will meet 26 Bible people, each representing a letter of the alphabet as they listen to their stories and are introduced to scripture. The C.A.P. curriculum incorporates all areas of study within a Christian framework. The classroom has various work centers which include circle time, computer, block, dramatic play/housekeeping, sand play, library/listening, writing/language arts, painting, math and science. During "circle time" the Alphabet People are introduced along with other activities including weather, songs, fingerplays, calendar, daily helpers & prayer. Children learn patterning, simple addition & subtraction, letter sound recognition and are exposed to various learning activities in a friendly, nurturing environment. Every week a different child is featured as the "star attraction". Family participation is encouraged during their child's special week. During this week, parents (in the 4/5 year old class) are invited to make a snack with the class beginning with the letter of study. Every two weeks the centers are changed to relate to the current theme, providing new and interesting materials. A newsletter highlighting school activities is available at the conclusion of each month providing vital communication between home and school. Daily art projects including a monthly calendar also keep parents abreast of school activities. Class trips are scheduled approximately once every month to help enrich the preschool learning experience. A fenced in playground is available for large muscle activity and play, weather permitting.
